Before use, safety & care
Thoroughly rinse all products, including adapters and sponges, in clean, dechlorinated water before placing them in your aquarium. Do not use soap or household detergents. Inspect for damage, sharp edges, or loose material before use.
Every aquarium is different. Buyers are responsible for checking that each product is suitable for their equipment, water conditions, and fish, shrimp, snails, or other livestock. Check openings, clearances, and intake strength for your animals, especially fry and small shrimp. The sponges add a physical barrier around the intake, but protection depends on sponge fit, pore size, flow and livestock size, and is not a guarantee of fry or shrimp safety.
Install securely, monitor livestock and water flow after installation, and remove the product if any concern arises. Testing on the listed filter models does not guarantee suitability for every tank or species.
To clean, turn off your canister filter before removing the prefilter. Gently remove the sponges and rinse or squeeze them in removed aquarium water. Reinstall securely and check normal flow after restarting.

Which package should I choose?
Adapter only includes no foam, so you will need suitable sponges for both supports. Adapter + 2 sponges fits both supports. Adapter + 4 sponges adds two spares.
What size are the included sponges?
About 5.91 in long and 2.56 in diameter, with a 0.8 in blind bore. Foam dimensions can vary slightly, so allow clearance around the installed sponges for removal and maintenance.
Will it change my filter's flow?
It is an upgrade for prefiltration and cleaning, not for pump output. Sponges add resistance and can restrict flow as they clog, so rinse them regularly and whenever flow drops.
Is this a Fluval part?
No. It is independently designed and made by Aqua Stiles, and is not manufactured by or affiliated with Fluval. The name identifies compatibility.
